The Njanjma Kunred Academy (NKA) is being developed by NAC to coordinate and manage training and developmental pathways for Bininj (local Indigenous) youth. Although local organisations like NAC are attracting business and creating employment opportunities in Gunbalanya, there are few pathways for youth to follow that clearly lead to these jobs. The NKA has therefore been designed to be a capacity building initiative that provides the vocational training and experience that is required to connect youth with real jobs and sustainable employment.

The NKA is structured to align with the major business development sectors for the region, which have been identified as Natural Resource Management, Cultural Heritage Management, and Visit Management and Engagement. NKA cadets will be provided with the necessary skills and human resource development so that they are able to enter the workforce with the training and experience that is required.
