In June we had visit from members of the Northern Territory Weeds Branch. During their trip we visited several places in the Mikkinj Valley to identify problem sites and the talk about the weeds that affect these sites – including Mimosa Pigra. The visit taught us a lot! We learned about weed identification, how weeds spread, how we can monitor the spread of these weeds, how to prevent these weeds becoming established on country and how we can control them most effectively. The visit has been very useful for understanding how we should monitor and control weeds on country and we are using the things we learned to plan and prioritise future weed work.
